  MISSION /MINISTRY

MISSION COMMITTEE

"We are called and sent into the world to make known the love and kindness of God our Father, revealed in Jesus Christ, and to give our lives in service to His people." (Constitutions No. 3) This mission demands that we be aware of the evils of our times (J. Chevalier) and seek to identify their causes. In the light of the Gospel, we respond to the needs of our day and assume the risks of this challenge. (Constitutions no. 8)

Since we are an International Missionary Congregation, we are not limited to a certain apostolate/ministry. Fr. Jules Chevalier, our spiritual founder, wanted us to respond to the needs of the times. Therefore our response in ministry varies from country to country. We try to match the talents of the Sisters to the needs of God's people.

PASTORAL MINISTRY:
Following the tradition of our Congregation and the call of the Church, we proclaim God's love
in our ministry among those who do not yet know Christ and His Church.
(Constitutions no. 9)
As MSC Sisters, we are involved in pastoral care in diverse settings.
We can be found in Parishes and Dioceses, and universities.

SOCIAL WORK:
From its very beginning, the MSC Sisters,
in a spirit of discernment and dialogue,
seek to read the signs of the times.
According to the needs of the societies in which they minister, they are committed to social work in different ways:

"Our Mission urges us to enkindle the fire of availability for mission in order to be faithful to our call to be the Heart of God on earth!"

(From the Mission Statement 2006)

EDUCATION: We serve as teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools.
